According to talent manager, Isioma Osaje, this is what we should expect from EbonyLife‘s latest project “Chief Daddy“.

Chief Daddy will star Ini Edo, Shaffy Bello, Linda Ejiofor, Bisola Aiyeola, Funke Akindele, Zainab Balogun, Lepacious Bose, Dakore Egbuson, Falz, Mawuli Gavor, Kate Henshaw, Beverly Naya, MI, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Nedu, Uti Nwachukwu, Chigul, Racheal Oniga, Ayo Lijadu, Taiwo Obileye, Beverly Osu, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Joke Silva and will be directed by the one and only Niyi Akinmolayan.

This is the first time in Nollywood that a movie will feature such an ensemble cast.

Chief Daddy tells the story of billionaire industrialist Chief Beecroft, a flamboyant benefactor to a large extended family of relatives, household staff and assorted mistresses. Chief lives large, like there’s no tomorrow, until the day he dies suddenly and the ‘bullion van’ stops! What’s in his will and who gets all that money? What happens next will surprise you, as Chief Daddy has the last laugh from beyond the grave.

Linda Ejiofor plays the role of Chief’s unofficial PA with a secret key to Chief Daddy’s affections. Ini Edo plays the role of the exciting mistress and secret baby mama who needs to secure her cashflow. Shaffy Bello plays the role of the hidden second wife who now wants to take her rightful place. Chigul plays the role of Chinelo Ubani, aka Chuchu; co-owner of a failing business with an incompetent partner played by Nedu – in need of a big payday. Joke Silva plays the role of Kemi Beecroft, aka Lady Kay; haughty, high-society wife and former mistress of Chief Daddy, determined to secure her only son’s future.

Talk about drama!

The movie was written by Bode Asiyanbi and the producers are Temidayo Abudu and Queens Martins.

Chief Daddy is scheduled for a Christmas release.

With the release of her highly anticipated second album, ‘Red Velvet‘, in view, award-winning singer Waje treated a select few to an intimate evening at Civic Center, Lagos on Friday, November 30th, 2018.

The Red Velvet album listening party was an entertaining evening, hosted by IK Osakioduwa and Bovi. Guests watched Waje’s documentary, and the artiste spoke on how music impacted her life from adolescence to adulthood.

After each track on the album was played, there were Q&A sessions where Waje spoke about the inspiration and art behind each one. Some celebrities who came out to support Waje were Shaffy Bello, Banky W, Chigurl, Omawumi, Mai Atafo,  Yemi Alade, Ini Dima-Okojie, Mimi Onalaja, Chidinma, and Lala Akindoju. After the listening session, there was also an art auction.

The maiden edition of the anticipated event – The Abuja Young Entrepreneurs Awards (AYE Awards) aimed at honoring and celebrating young and outstanding individuals in the nation’s capital city, will take place on Friday 20th April 2012 at the coveted Abuja International Conference Center.

On Friday 20th April 2012, the anticipated maiden edition of The Abuja Young Entrepreneurs Awards (AYE Awards) took place at the Abuja International Conference Centre.

The event which was tagged a night of glamour and entertainment, was hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Matilda Duncan of Rhythm FM Abuja and saw 11 individuals given awards for their non stop entrepreneurial contributions in Abuja.  Three Honorary awards were also given at the event.

Guests were welcomed into the hall with the sonorous voice of rising Abuja music act – Mystro. Afterwards, Bikiya Graham-Douglas gave her rendition of the National anthem. In between award presentations, attendees enjoyed rib cracking jokes by Ajebo and Chigurl and danced to musical performances by White Nigerian with Terry da Rapman and Omawumi who gave a 5 stellar song performance. Fashion and style nominees also presented some of their most creative fashion pieces at the event.

To drive home the message behind the awards, the organisers – Samiah Oyekan-Ahmed of Fusion Lifestyle Ltd and Habiba Sha’aba Afonja of  The Connector Ltd. spoke on the reason behind the awards and its long term objectives.  Top Nigerian entrepreneurs including Bruce Ayonote (CEO Suburban Telecomms), Alhaji Isiaka Rabiu (MD IRS Airlines) and Tony Ifechukwu (Representative of the CBN governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi) were also present to address attendees.

In celebrating five years of being truly WOW!, one of Nigeria’s biggest lifestyle publications, TW Magazine, hosted an elegant night of fashion and recognition on Sunday 30th September 2012.

The event which was compered by hilarious Chioma Omeruah, better known as Chigurl, saw designers, Gogo Majin of GM4FM and Theresa Onwuka of Needle Point, set the evening alight with their gorgeous pieces, using vibrant Vlisco prints.  A dramatic touch was also added to the runway, which was interspersed with a series of monologues delivered by some rising Nollywood starlets.

Later in the day, guests continued with a sumptuous dinner, during which TW recognition awards were presented to Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde for her continued work with widows, Lateef Salami, the Nigerian aviation worker who found and returned N 7 Million to its owner and other worthy recipients. After the awards, it was time to dance. Top Nigerian songstresses, Waje and ChiDynma serenaded guests with their delightful tunes while Chigul gave everyone free “Azonto” tutorials.

First of all, a huge kudos to Mavin Records‘ first lady, Tiwa Savage and her team for an awesome album listening party and of course, a great album to go with it. The album listening party took place at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos on Sunday, 26th May 2013.

Tiwa Savage‘s debut album “Once Upon A Time” is a diverse collection of tunes that can almost soothe any mood you’re in. Here’s what the official album artwork looks like.

The venue looked outstanding. There were larger than life photos of Tiwa on all the walls. And, on the LCD screens and projectors, footage of Tiwa Savage from different photo shoots was looping.

After a few cocktails, mingling with A-list celebrities and some major delish ‘chow’ went down our throats, the event started by Tiwa taking us on quite an exciting journey through her new album. She was also put on the spot, during the show, to perform an ‘impromptu’ acoustic number. She soulfully belted out a sonorous Gospel hymn which kept our belief in Tiwa Savage more than alive. Trust Don Jazzy to lace us with his hefty bass and staccato snare drums and claps. This track has a very South African House/Kwaito vibe and its lyrics are very spaced out too, in their fashion, to help you appreciate the production a lot more.

Reminiscent of Destiny’s Child harmonizing, Tiwa Savage sings the ever-popular Fela lyric in tribute.

It’s great to see how Tiwa brings out a different side of Don Jazzy. You can tell he wants to diversify his sound as he’s more experimental with World, House, Dubstep & Kwaito genres. Plus, she makes him confident as she’s the only artiste who has 3 good features with him.

Finally, Tiwa’s chemistry with Rihanna & Nicki Minaj producer, Oak and Tiffany Fred is quite an award-winning formula as their cohesion cuts across genres and industries. “Ileke” is my favourite jam right now and I can’t wait to cop myself this new “Once Upon A Time” album.

• With “Once Upon A Time” slated to drop this 14th June, 2013, Tiwa’s Pepsi endorsement has been extended for two more years.
• Apart from mixing and mastering, another thing that delayed the release of “Once Upon A Time” was getting the rights to the sample used on “Wanted”.

It was an awesome time of learning, sharing and networking; Women inspiring each other and also had a fashion show from Sashes Couture.

The event lasted 3 hours from 12Noon to 3PM and held on Wednesday 22nd October 2014 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel Area 11 Garki Abuja. ‎

There were interactive discussions, fashion, music and lots of good food.

The event was hosted by funnygirl Chigurl and was organised by TW Magazine and WOWConnect with performances by Zaina.

Preparations for the fourth edition of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) kicks into yet another gear as nominees are announced on Friday, 11 December 2015. DStv and GOtv audiences should tune in to catch the announcement which airs on all Africa Magic channels at 21:30 CAT. Public voting opens immediately after the announcement and closes on the 26th of February, 2016.

The Nominee Announcement, which will be hosted by ace Kenyan broadcaster Larry Madowo and popular Nigerian comedienne Chigurl, is once again brought to viewers across the continent by Africa Magic in association with MultiChoice and the headline sponsor, Amstel Malta.

The Director, M-Net (West) , said: “We are pleased to invite our viewers to tune in as Africa Magic announces nominees for the 2016 AMVCAs. The AMVCAs remain the most important celebration of film and television talent across Africa, and for the 2016 edition we have received over 2,500 entries. Everyone is undoubtedly excited and I urge viewers to tune in as we find out those who made the final cut“.

Since the maiden edition in 2013, the AMVCAs have celebrated the contributions of African filmmakers, actors and technicians to the success of the continent’s film and television industry. With the fourth edition, which is scheduled to hold in March 2016, viewers can expect to see awards in categories ranging from acting, directing to scriptwriting and cinematography, to newly announced categories like the Best Movie for West Africa, Best Movie for East Africa, and Best Movie for Southern Africa.

‘She Is’, produced by Waje and Omawumi, co-founders of recently established Hermanes Media is the maiden project from the media firm. The film tackles a number of personal and societal issues women have to deal with in today’s world, and stars seasoned actors like Somekele Iyamah-Idhalamah, Desmond Elliot, and Segun Arinze, to name a few.

Inspired by the movie’s plot, the theme of the evening was ’modern-day fairy tale’. Guests showed up dressed to the nines in designer ball gowns, whimsical dresses, and flamboyant suits, dazzling the red carpet in an array of colors. Some celebrities who came out to support Waje and Omawumi are Bovi, Ebuka, Seyi law, Frank Donga, Chigurl, Toke Makinwa, Banky W, Tobi Bakare, Alex Unusual, Ifuenada, Osas, Mochedah, Aduni Ade, and Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, to name a few.

Before the movie started, guests enjoyed a special debut performance of the movie’s title soundtrack single “She Is” by Waje and Omawumi. The song which was being heard for the first time was brilliantly received with shouts of appreciation and rousing applause by the guests.
